What’s In The Box
Build Quality
Ecoflow is known for its aesthetics and futuristic appearance. Let us take a look at the build quality, the various ports, and controls found on the device. Their products are solid. Delta Pro is built to last.
They use quality ABS plastic, but there are parts of the stations that are made from rubber. While ports are nicely constructed, side and back plate doors are not smooth. I mean, they are easier to open, but harder to close.
There is a handle on each side of the station, but it is still a bit difficult to take by a single person. The luggage-like handles and wheels at the lower back are a novelty in the Ecoflow Delta range, but are immensely useful, particularly when moving that thing on flat ground.

Output /Input Ports
It is too bad all of the AC ports are US-type. It would be hugely convenient to have at least one Universal AC port.
DC5521s (or simply DC ports) are extremely useful for powering devices that draw power from the DC ports. Devices such as CPAP machines use DC ports a lot.
The standard idle time for AC ports is 12 hours. If AC load is zero, then the AC power is automatically switched off in order to avoid losing energy. Car Charger: Supports either 12V or 24V batteries.
Controls and Portability
The Ecoflow Delta Pro can be controlled via a number of different methods, including conventional unit-based controls, hardwired controls (via the Ethernet ports), and Internet of Things/WiFi controls through the smartphone app (more on that below). Talking about the on-unit control buttons.
Power button — Long press turns the station on/off. Overload protective switch – If you overcharge your power station, perhaps plugging in energy-hungry devices, you can reset your fuse with this switch. Fast-mode – This mode allows the power station to pull in more power from the wall socket.
More power is pumped in, which means a quicker charge. With more battery capacity comes more weight. At 100 pounds, the Delta Pro is certainly not a lightweight device.
It is still portable, but it is not really comfortable to carry around. On flat surfaces, you can make easy moves with its bag handles and wheels. Just push a button on the handle, pull, lift, and simply roll. Once you get to an end point, drop it, press the handle until it clicks, and you are done.
When it comes to a portable power bank, the power source and the performance of the batteries are what matters the most. High-power means that you can run a number of appliances with a lot of energy, and/or you do not need to worry about overloading your power bank. The Ecoflow Delta Pro offers 3600W output, which is huge.
Power Capacity and X-Boost
If I were to walk through my home and take notes on any appliances that are rated at more than 3600W power, I would probably spot HVAC systems (windows and portable AC are both significantly below 3K) and an electric water heater. Everything else, including the electric stove, clothes dryer, refrigerator, and so on, are all below the 3.6kw mark.
This means that Ecoflow Delta Pro is capable of replacing a conventional household inverter in most homes. Not only is it suitable for households, but the amount of energy is also sufficient for running a lot of power tools around the workshop, making it a great back-up power supply for roving workers, shops, small offices, and whatnot.
For campers, you could stay comfortable for weeks in the forest with this. But good luck carrying this around.
The Delta Pro has a feature called X-Boost, which can increase the power output up to an impressive 4,500W. For that, you have to enable X-Boost Mode through a smartphone app. When enabled, the power station is capable of delivering maximum 4500W of power to your devices, avoiding operational loss through overloaded protection.
Battery Capacity
The Ecoflow Delta Pro Power Station features LiFePO4 batteries (Lithium Iron Phosphate). This type of battery has been found to be highly effective. Tesla plans on using LFP batteries for their electric cars.
In any power bank, battery capacity dictates how long you will be able to power the device with that battery. The Delta Pro, with its 3,600Wh battery, can continuously power any = 3,600W device for at least one hour. If a device is less than 3600W, it will last longer than one hour.
Yes, you can boost battery capacity on the Ecoflow Delta Pro. In fact, it supports a whopping 25,000Wh, which is crazy.
You can buy additional batteries for the Ecoflor Delta Pro Smart, or you can add on another station power pack. The additional battery ports on the back will help to accomplish that.
The process requires using the Dual Voltage Hub or the Smart Home Panel Kit. These accessories are sold separately.
Shelf Life
Delta Pros LFP batteries are rated for a 1-year shelf life (after full charging). Shelf life is how long the battery can stay in safe storage without losing its capacity.
I use the term safe storage because the battery will quickly die if it is stored at an extreme temperature. If you are planning on buying it only as a back-up power in case of emergencies, and you are not expecting to use it even if once every 2-3 months, then please note/set reminders to drain it and charge it every quarter. You don’t want to lose this great investment due to neglect.
Battery cycle life is another crucial aspect. Cycle life is the number of charging and discharging cycles that the battery can go through before it starts to show its faults. Delta Pros batteries are designed for 3500 cycles at 80+ percent capacity. So, even if you discharge and recharge this station daily, it will last for 10 years?.
I do not have a lot of data on that, but we have to go by what the manufacturers say.
Storage and Maintenance
It is worth pointing out that keeping the battery (any battery) at low power for long periods of time will reduce the life of it. This is why automotive experts recommend turning your cars motor on at least every couple of months.
Fortunately, Delta Pro minimizes the batterys harm by placing it in a sleeper mode. However, the manufacturers advise keeping the battery around 60% charged before you place the station in a long-term storage. It is also recommended that you drain the battery down to 30%, then charge it up again at 60% every 3 months.
The ideal temperature for storage will be 70degF to 85degF. Keep it out of the water, and be sure to never store in temperatures higher than 110degF or lower than 15degF for extended periods of time. High temps are extremely bad and will rapidly reduce the batteries effectiveness.
Battery Protection
Technology is now advanced enough where you will not need to worry about damaging your batteries. Equipped with Ecoflow’s intelligent silicon chip, Delta Pro power station has,
-Over-voltage protection
-Overload protection
-Over temperature protection
-Short circuit protection
-Low temperature protection
-Low voltage protection and
-Overcurrent protection
Ecoflow Delta Pro Performance
We have got an impressive 7,200W of peak power. This means that a generating unit is capable of 7200W over a short time period (typically several seconds). Surges are really useful when using coil-based electronics such as pumps, heatsinks, furnaces, engines, etc.
The concept is very simple, certain devices that are energy-hungry need a lot of energy during startup. For instance, a microwave takes double the amount of energy during its first seconds. After that, consumption drops off dramatically.
The refueling capability would be used for those situations. Generally, having 7200W of surge capability is advantageous as this covers most, if not all, devices. People working with power tools would benefit most from this.
Let us now look at a few devices which are capable of being powered by the Ecoflow Delta Pro, as well as their durability.
Just for testing, I charged up this battery-powered generator to 100%, and hooked up my laptop and two monitors. It ended up continuously powering them all for a day before dying. My gaming MSI laptop is VERY power-hungry.

It is advance, intelligent, and is like the Swiss Army knife of power stations. It has all the ports you could want, an aesthetic appearance, and insane power.
Mostly Portable Power Station used in the outdoors, for camping, etc. But those living in rural areas may have better access to this. Especially, people who are susceptible to power failures, storms, and the like. I actually used mine in our recent winter storms here in Texas.
But, if you are planning on buying it simply for the emergency source of electricity, I would NOT recommend the battery stations.
Mostly because a battery generator needs to hold onto energy in order to provide energy. If you have an outage that is going on for weeks, you are in trouble. I know, it’s eco-friendly, more efficient, but nonetheless, diesel generators may be the better choice here.
Should you buy Ecoflow Delta Pro?
You should buy this if
You need a higher-capacity, higher-output, portable energy source. You want to be somewhat independent of a conventional electrical grid. You own a motorhome or RV. Your house has been experiencing periodic blackouts.
You shouldn’t buy this if
You wanted a large, inexpensive battery pack. You do not want to have to carry a heavy load.
The EcoFlow Delta Pro is the one product for everybody, and yet it is also not.
It could be a lifeline to those who have medical issues, and to those who want to have reassurance that, should power ever really be lost, that their medical devices can continue operating for long periods. It is a similar feeling for everyone else who wants to make sure that the electricity at their house is going to be fine, and that they will be able to keep essential appliances running. The Ecoflow Delta Pro is designed for RVers and outdoors people working on projects using power tools. But the price and weight of the Delta Pro will be an entry barrier, holding some back.
